December 2022

Updated: Dec 19, 2022

Hello Everyone,

The past few months have been a blur. We successfully completed our contract with Whole Foods Market and have made some amazing connections this year. It

was our full year as an active chapter since the relaunch and reorganization. Here is what the wonderful team at Slow Food Houston has done.

  • We had two amazing sponsors; CatSpring Yaupon and Whole Foods Market, thank you for your faith in Slow Food Houston, and your contributions to grow and expand our services to the community.

  • We have officially met the requirements for Snail of Approval and can now accept nominations and award businesses that meet the standards for a sustainable future.

  • We helped some schools and communities grow and enrich through community garden kits.

  • We also gave out over 1,000 seeds and plants to community members, to increase biodiversity and increase food independance.

  • We created and struggle with a podcast. We will eventually fall into rhythm.

I am thankful for my team and what they have accomplished. While we didn't meet all our goals this year, we did accomplish quite a bit. We are always looking for ways to serve the greater Houston community. Here's what we have planned for 2023.

  • Another community garden in the Clear Lake region of Houston.

  • Monthly workshops.

  • Doing more events.

I thank you all for your support, and on a final note, the last few months our phone has been a mess, we are switching companies, and will inform everyone when that occurs. We have emailed everyone we were working with our temporary alternate number. If you did not receive that email, please contact us through social media. Thank you.

Kat
